Awareness Campaign - Logo, Poster, T-shirt

An empowering awareness campaign, to highlight the racial microaggressions, of touching a person of colours hair without permission. I took photographs of people silhouettes as a template for the shapes of each figure. Photoshop was used to draw the figures; a textured brush was used to add depth and life to the edges. This route was taken as using the photographs gave a harsh and flat edge. The logo is from a font I made using Illustrator. It helped to strengthen the identity of this project and produce a powerful slogan in look and tone. Black and white were used to allow the viewer to interrupt the work but to also see a reversal within roles.

Campaigns manifesto highlighting rules, and educating the viewer by giving them the power to consider whether what they are doing is racist. But also to empower those it happens to, to stand up and say 'Respect My Do'

Instagram acts as the platform for the #Respectmydo. People can post and share there stories. And even have them turned into silhouettes for posters.
